The Anderson School Chess Program
The Anderson School (P.S. 334) chess program is one of the largest in the city. Our students have grown into some of the best chess players - not just in New York City, but nationally.
We offer curricluum for K-3 all year long as well as afterschool program on Tuesdays and Thursday.
Anderson also host 4 chess tournaments a year and chess camps over the long school breaks.
We are excited to announce that NYSCC will be running chess curriculum classes at PS 199 on the Upper West Side for all 2nd, 3rd graders and now 4th graders.
Students will learn the basics of chess including:
as well as build off knowledge they already have about chess.
Chess is an incredible tool to help increase a child's focus, concentration and ability to problem solve: numerous studies have shown an increase in standardized test scores among students who take a weekly curriculum chess class. We hope that our chess program will help the students of PS 199 reach their full potential.
We are excited to announce that NYSCC will be starting a program at PS 452 in its new location.
We will be offering both curriculum classes and an afterschool program on Mondays starting in the fall.
